How long will it take my carpet to dry?
Dry time typically takes anywhere from 4-24 hours and depends on a number of factors. These factors include things such as the airflow and humidity in your home. You can expedite the drying process by utilizing the following tips:
If it's dry outside:
1) Turn on ceiling fans and portable fans to create air movement.
2) Ventilate the house by opening a window in each room.
3) If you have an attic fan, turn it ON.
4) If your furnace or air conditioner has a "Fan" setting, leave the Fan ON.
If it's wet or humid outside:
1) Turn on ceiling fans and portable fans to create air movement.
2) In WARM WEATHER , set the air conditioning thermostat to a lower temperature than normal. Also, if your air conditioner has a "Fan" setting, leave the Fan ON.
3. In COOL WEATHER, set the furnace thermostat to a higher temperature than normal. Also, if your furnace has a "Fan" setting, leave the Fan ON.
Should I stay off of my carpet while it's drying?
Ideally, yes. The less foot traffic, the better. However, you are able to walk on it if need be. If you will be walking on the carpet while it's damp, be sure to wear clean, rubber-soled shoes. Do not walk on it with bare feet or in socks, as oils from your skin may transfer to the carpet, which will attract dirt. Likewise, keep pets off of the carpet during drying, as oils can transfer from the pads of their paws.
Will you move my furniture out of the way?
Our technicians will move items as long as they are not too heavy and are not fragile (such as glass, fine china, etc). Sofas and loveseats typically can be moved, but heavier styles may not. It is up to the technician's discretion to determine if a piece of furniture is safe to move. Our technicians will clean around any furniture items left in place that are unable to be moved. If you have items that are heavy or are fragile and you would like to ensure the technician is able to clean underneath them, we kindly ask that you have the items move prior to the technician's arrival.
Do I need to do anything before my carpet cleaning?
All we ask is that you have small objects and debris removed from the floor prior to the service, as these could jam or clog the equipment. Running a quick vacuum over the carpet is recommended. And, as mentioned above, have any heavy or fragile items moved that you would like cleaned underneath.
Do your cleanings include spot and stain treatment?
All of our cleanings are designed to treat heavily soiled areas and water-soluble stains. Certain stains may require additional stain treatment. These include stains such as paint, rust, and wine. You can learn more about our specialty stain removal by clicking here.
